This is the season when Dartmoor is at its worst, with heavy rainfall turning the moor into wet, marshy lands at many places. It is a high adrenalin event that attracts people from all over the world.
The participants in this event are mostly teenagers from schools and colleges. They first undergo training. There are six people in a team and they have to reach the top of every tor, where there is a checkpoint and in this similar fashion they have to complete all the Ten Tors.
This event first took place in 1960, so it has a long history to fall back on.
